Low Income Energy Assistance Program (LIEAP)
Staying warm in winter can be a financial hardship for seniors on fixed incomes and individuals with lower incomes. The Low Income Energy Assistance Program (LIEAP) helps bring down the winter heating costs for eligible individuals. Low-income households can apply for assistance in the form of periodic payments made directly to their utility company on their behalf. The credit will be applied to the utility account. Households experiencing a heating emergency may be eligible for emergency crisis assistance through this program, as well.
Applicants must meet LIEAP eligibility guidelines to qualify for assistance through this program, with applications accepted beginning November each year. We can help you complete and submit your application for assistance through this and other available programs in Lincoln and Wayne County, WV. If you prefer, you may submit your application directly.
