Home Delivered Meals Program

Serving Homebound Seniors In Lincoln and Wayne County, WV

Homebound seniors in Lincoln and Wayne County, WV, may be eligible for home delivered meals. This service is available through Lincoln County Opportunity Company, Inc.’s Home Delivered Meals Program. We offer convenient, nutritious meals to provide seniors a delicious alternative to relying on quick microwave meals, take out, or snack foods to get through the day. Some seniors have told us that they look forward to a tasty meal that they did not have to prepare. We encourage all eligible local seniors to participate in this beneficial nutrition program.

Eligibility – Home Delivered Meals Program

Local seniors may qualify for Lincoln County Opportunity Company, Inc.’s Home Delivered Meals Program. This valuable meal program offers at least five meals per week for eligible individuals. To receive meals, you must:

  1. Be over 60 years of age
  2. Be homebound* (unable to eat meals at our senior centers) and unable to meet basic nutritional needs* either temporarily or long term
  3. Have no other reliable means of obtaining your daily meals
  4. Reside in our service area (Lincoln County, WV and Wayne County, WV)

*”Homebound”: Unable to leave the home without considerable difficulty and/or assistance. A person may leave home for medical treatment or short/infrequent absences for non-medical reasons, such as a trip to the barber or to attend religious services, etc.

*”Unable to meet basic nutritional needs”: Unable to prepare/have difficulty preparing at least one nutritious meal daily because of physical or mental limitations, or unable to obtain/have difficulty obtaining necessary food.

A suggested contribution per meal is calculated based on income; however, no one is turned away due to inability to pay.
